Went form Nothing to Everything

Second quarter outside reading book
Title: The Blind Side
Author: Michael Lewis
Published: in 2006
Genre: Non Fiction

This book is about a boy named Michael Oher who grew in a bad part of town. His mom was a drug addict, and had to give up all of her kids to the state. Michael didn’t want to leave, he wanted to stay with his mother no matter what happened. As he got older he stayed with his friend on the couch. His friends father Big Tony had brought the two to a christian school to try and get them into it.
This story was very inspirational to me because it means to me that you should never give up no matter how much you want to back down. This to me, is such an incredible story and is so amazing that i will never forget.
Michael is so strong and so protective of his now family the Tuohy’s. He would never let anything happen to them. He scored in the ninety-eighth percentile in protective instincts. Thats pretty impressive. When i think about where he came from and where he is now, sometimes i can’t believe how amazing it is.
This story makes me realize how much you have to work to get where you want to go in life. From where he started to where he ended up is just so unbelievable. The first time i heard the story, i started to cry. I thought that it was so inspiring that, that Touhy’s did that for Michael. I had gotten so overwhelmed with so much joy for him that i was crying happy tears. I usually never cry with that sort of stuff, but i did.
I would definitely give the Blind Side a 5 (pounce on it) on the tiger paw rating system. I just wish that everyone could be that kind and caring to do that for a person that had no home or bed. He just had a shirt in a plastic bag. Everytime i think about it I smile. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It gives you a different take on the world.

Just Fire

Annabel~Just Listen
Katniss~Catching Fire

Just Fire

Today is the third Monday in July,  it’s also the first day that I meet my long lost cousin Katniss.  My name is Annabel,  i was told that i had cousins that i’d never met before.  But, I didn’t know that she was that interesting.  I mean , fought people till the death.  Thats crazy, right?  The people in this town are kind of quiet, nothing like that.  “Annabel” my mom called me. “what?”. “She is here”. “okay, on my way down”.  As i run down the stairs i see her standing in the doorway , bag in her hand.  “Hi” I said, “hey” Katniss replied.  “Annabel, this i Katniss” my mom introduced us.   I took her to the spare  room to put her things down.  Although she didn’t have much.  “So what do you do around here?” Katniss sounded interested.  “Well, theres the park, the movies, and the radio station downtown”.  “music, what kind, i've only heard so much music.  Only at the Capitol.”  “There is a whole different variety of music” me feeling excited that we might become very good friends.  “Maybe you could show me some time?”  asking as if we could do it at this exact moment.  I mean i get it she never gets to do any of this stuff.    I was told that where she lived they had such strict rules.  So she wants to do so much.   “Well since there is so much and that you are going to be here for a while , what do you want to do first?”.  “Well what's your favorite thing to do here?”.  “Well, actually today i have a commercial shoot.  Do you want to come?”  “you’re a model?” “Yah” “So do you want to come?” “Yah” “Do you want join me in the shoot?”
“Can I” She sounded so excited.  “Lets go!”  So as we were going to the shoot, she never took her eyes of the window.  She was just so fascinated by all of it.  I guess where she is from that she didn’t have anything like this.  I wonder what this is like for her?  As we are pulling up to the shoot she says to “ I’m nervous.” “it’s ok.” as I try to console her.  So we walk into the studio, i could tell that Katniss was overwhelmed.  I was hoping that she was going to be all right.
After the shoot was over we went to go get some ice cream.  She had no clue what the different were.  So I had to order for her, which wasn't bad, she said that she was open to anything.  So we both got mint chocolate chip in a cone, and started going home.  When we got home my mom was butchering us with questions.  Which to be honest i wasn’t that surprised i thought she was going to do that.  So we went up o whitney’s room and she was asking how everything was going.  And of course we said good.  I could tell that she was already having fun.  So we went up to my room, and i could already tell that we weren't just going to be cousins we were going to be great friends.
